Snapsquatch FAQ

What is Snapsquatch?

Snapsquatch is a daily word game about taking pictures of cryptids. You get one letter and nine categories, and 3 minutes to name something for each category that starts with that letter.

Every answer is a snapshot. Obvious answers only get you a squirrel. The rarer your answer, the rarer the cryptid in your photo, and the rarest of all is Bigfoot. Don't be obvious.

Is there a new game every day?

Yes. Everyone gets the same letter and categories, and a new board opens at midnight your local time.

What are the rarity levels?

Every answer is ranked by how many other hunters gave it, from common to rare:

🌫️ Fog: no answer. 0 points.

🐿️ Squirrel: one of the most obvious answers. 10 points.

🐺 Dogman: the next most common answers. 30 points.

👽 Close encounter: less common, but 1% or more of hunters said it. 60 points.

🦕 Nessie: fewer than 1% of hunters said it. 100 points.

What is a Bigfoot?

Every category hides one secret answer. Find it and you catch 🫈 Bigfoot, worth 150 points. The secret answers are revealed when the hunt ends.

Are there bonuses?

Yes, two. Clear photo rewards alliteration, and Double sighting lets one answer count in two categories. How to play explains both.

What if I make a typo?

Close misspellings are caught. The game asks "Did you mean…?" and you can confirm the right answer.

Do I need an account or an app?

No. Snapsquatch plays in your browser, on your phone or computer.
